Tudor’s character comes through in the details: a square-ended hour hand, generous luminous markers, a case built for work. Hans Wilsdorf established the Swiss brand in 1946, pairing the reliability he demanded of Rolex with watches intended for a broader audience. Early Tudors used Rolex cases with externally supplied movements; today, manufacture calibers underpin much of the range.

The dive watches are the heart of the story. Tudor introduced its “snowflake” hands in 1969, giving its Submariner a distinctive silhouette that still shapes the collection. The Black Bay, launched in 2012, draws on those earlier divers without reproducing any single reference. The compact Black Bay Fifty-Eight brings that vocabulary into a 39mm case.

The Pelagos takes a more technical route, with titanium construction and crisp, square markers; the Pelagos FXD adds fixed strap bars developed around military diving requirements. Away from the water, the Ranger keeps things spare with an uncluttered field-watch dial, while the Black Bay Chrono combines contrasting subdials with Tudor’s familiar snowflake hour hand.
