The Tudor FXD takes the Pelagos in a more specialized direction: a titanium dive watch with fixed strap bars, developed with the French Navy for underwater navigation. Those bars define the experience—you get a secure, purposeful strap-only watch, but no bracelet option and no conventional two-piece straps.

The original blue 25707B, introduced in 2021, is the one to seek out if that naval connection draws you in. Its bidirectional countdown bezel was designed around timing successive legs of an underwater route, rather than measuring elapsed dive time. The black 25717N followed in 2023, drawing on Tudor’s history with US Navy divers and using a conventional unidirectional elapsed-time bezel instead.

Both wear flatter than their broad footprint suggests. Before choosing, consider your preferred strap: it must pass beneath the case, and a thicker weave can change the fit noticeably. On the blue model, the “M.N.” caseback marking identifies the French Navy connection, not proof of military issue.

What owners love

  • The titanium case feels surprisingly light for a 42mm watch, and the relatively thin profile keeps it from feeling top-heavy on a fabric strap. That comfort is a big reason owners keep reaching for it.
  • The dial is easy to read at a glance, with strong contrast and lume that owners regularly praise. There’s no date window interrupting the layout.
  • The fixed bars make the strap attachment feel reassuringly secure, with no spring bars to worry about. Owners who enjoy fabric straps also like how quickly they can change the watch’s feel with a different pass-through strap.

Common Criticisms

  • The fixed bars are also the main limitation: you can’t fit a conventional two-piece strap or bracelet. Even among pass-through straps, the material and thickness affect how comfortably it sits.
  • The long, fixed-lug case has a larger wrist footprint than the 42mm diameter suggests. Owners with smaller wrists sometimes find the ends project farther than they’d like, despite the watch’s low weight.
