The Tudor Black Bay 79220 is the original-generation Black Bay diver, with a Tudor rose on the dial and curved “Self-Winding” text that earned it the “smiley” nickname. Those details, alongside the snowflake hour hand and aluminum bezel insert, give it a character distinct from the later in-house models.

The burgundy-bezel 79220R launched the family in 2012; the blue 79220B followed in 2014, and the black 79220N in 2015.
