Moonswatch

The Swatch MoonSwatch borrows the Speedmaster’s asymmetric case, twisted lugs and tachymeter bezel, then sends that familiar silhouette through a solar system of colored Bioceramic. Since the eleven original missions arrived in 2022, the family has grown beyond planetary palettes into gold-coated chronograph hands, Snoopy moonphases and an Earth-phase display.

The originals are quartz chronographs, but their personalities differ sharply. Mission to the Moon stays close to the gray-and-black Moonwatch vocabulary; Mission to Mars pairs red and white with the distinctive subdial hands associated with Omega’s Alaska Project. Mission to Neptune goes deep blue, while Mission to Saturn puts the ringed planet directly into a subdial. Those details make the mission names more than labels on otherwise identical dials.

The later branches are easiest to distinguish by their displays. The Moonshine Gold releases introduced a gold-coated chronograph seconds hand, not a gold case. The Snoopy models added a moonphase indication featuring the beagle, while Mission to Earthphase depicts Earth’s phases as seen from the Moon alongside a conventional moonphase—a different astronomical viewpoint within the same Speedmaster-derived outline.
