The Omega Speedmaster 3513.50 is the black-dial Speedmaster Date: a compact automatic chronograph with a steel tachymeter bezel and a distinctly different character from the Moonwatch. Its vertically arranged counters and date at three give it a busier, more workmanlike face, while the 39mm case makes it an inviting fit for wrists that find the Professional a little sprawling.

Don’t confuse it with the similarly sized Speedmaster Reduced. Inside is Omega’s caliber 1152, based on the Valjoux 7750—an integrated chronograph rather than the Reduced’s modular construction, a meaningful distinction when choosing between them. That movement can produce a noticeable free-spinning rotor sensation; it’s characteristic, not automatically a fault. When setting the date, move the hands safely away from the midnight changeover before using the quickset.
