The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is a family united less by dimensions or movement than by a distinctive vocabulary: a scalloped bezel, skeletonized or sword-shaped hands, and, on many versions, a wave-pattern dial. Since its 1993 debut, it has stretched from compact quartz models to mechanical chronographs, with the familiar three-hand diver evolving through several quite different generations.

Early examples pair aluminum bezel inserts with finely patterned wave dials; many have skeletonized hands and the alternating polished and brushed links of the familiar bracelet. Sword-hand versions give the same basic design a sharper, more utilitarian character. The Mid-Size and Quartz branches are important parts of that earlier story, not merely footnotes to the larger automatics.

The ceramic-bezel generation introduced in 2012 traded waves for glossy, unpatterned dials and used the automatic Co-Axial caliber 2500. The 2018 redesign brought prominent laser-engraved waves on ceramic dials, a date at six, and the Master Chronometer caliber 8800 in the standard 42mm automatic. Its display back and more conical helium-release valve help distinguish it from earlier three-hand models; Chronograph versions follow their own movement and case configurations.
