The white-dial Speedmaster Professional changes the familiar Moonwatch more than you might expect: glossy lacquer, black applied markers, and a red Speedmaster signature give the dial a crispness the traditional black version doesn’t have. Introduced in 2024, it keeps the familiar case and chronograph layout rather than treating the new dial as an excuse to redesign the watch.

The bracelet reference, 310.30.42.50.04.001, is the natural starting point if you want the full steel package; its clasp has a comfort adjustment that makes small fit changes straightforward. Unlike the black-dial Professional, this version isn’t offered with Hesalite: sapphire covers both the dial and the manually wound 3861 behind it. That movement brings hacking seconds and Master Chronometer certification to the traditional winding ritual. When comparing white Speedmasters, distinguish this lacquer-dial model from earlier white-dial editions—the color alone doesn’t identify the watch.

What owners love

  • The glossy white dial feels quite different from the black-dial Moonwatch: the recessed subdials and raised black markers give it depth, while the red Speedmaster lettering adds a small shot of colour. The black hands are particularly easy to pick out against the white.
  • On the steel bracelet, the pronounced taper and small links make it feel less bulky on the wrist than the 42mm diameter suggests. The clasp’s quick comfort adjustment is useful when your wrist swells, without needing to resize the bracelet.

Common Criticisms

  • The crown can be fiddly to grip between the crown guards, and winding can feel quite stiff. For a watch you wind by hand every day, that is a more noticeable annoyance than it would be on an automatic.
