The Omega Speedmaster 3520.50 puts a full calendar inside a compact automatic chronograph, without giving up the black-dial, tachymeter-bezel character that draws people to the family. Its pointer date runs around the dial’s edge, while day and month windows sit within the upper subdial—a busy arrangement, but one with a satisfying logic once you learn your way around it.

Often called the Triple Date, this is a different proposition from the hand-wound Moonwatch: smaller on the wrist, mechanically more involved, and distinctly its own watch. The automatic caliber 1151, derived from the Valjoux 7751, also supplies a 24-hour indication beside the running seconds. When assessing one, pay particular attention to the calendar: the pointer date, day and month should all advance correctly, and the recessed day corrector deserves a functional check rather than being overlooked.
