The Rolex Submariner 14060 pairs the clean, no-date dial with the slimmer case proportions and aluminum bezel insert that many enthusiasts miss in later Submariners. It also brought sapphire crystal and a 300-meter depth rating to the no-date line, making it a useful bridge between the older watches and their modern successors.

Introduced in 1990 to replace the 5513, the 14060 uses caliber 3000; the later 14060M moved to caliber 3130. Early tritium dials, marked “SWISS–T<25,” are worth seeking if you enjoy aged lume, while later examples offer non-radioactive luminous material. Both keep the restrained two-line text below the hands. On a tritium example, pay attention to whether the hands and dial belong together: replacement luminous parts can change its character considerably. Common Criticisms
