The Rolex GMT-Master II Batman gives the travel watch a quieter palette: blue for daytime hours, black for night, with a blue GMT hand tying it together. That ceramic bezel brings just enough color to a steel Rolex without dominating everything you wear it with.

The original 116710BLNR arrived in 2013 on an Oyster bracelet; the 126710BLNR followed in 2019 with caliber 3285 and a Jubilee bracelet. Rolex added an Oyster option to the newer reference in 2021, so choosing this generation needn’t mean choosing Jubilee. The five-link bracelet feels more supple and looks dressier; Oyster gives the watch a cleaner, more utilitarian character. Enthusiasts often call the Jubilee version Batgirl, though that’s a nickname, not a separate Rolex model.

When handling one, try the independently adjustable local-hour hand: it should jump in hourly steps without stopping the movement. That’s the useful distinction here—you can reset local time while the blue hand keeps track of home.

What owners love

  • The blue half of the bezel changes noticeably with the light: subdued indoors, much brighter in sunlight. Owners like that the black-and-blue combination adds color without being as conspicuous as the Pepsi bezel.
  • The independently adjustable local-hour hand is genuinely useful when traveling: you can change the hour without stopping the watch or disturbing the minutes. The 24-hour hand can stay on home time, and the rotating bezel lets you read another time zone.
  • On the Jubilee bracelet, the small links make it particularly comfortable and flexible on the wrist. It's a combination owners often praise after wearing it for full days, rather than just trying it on.

Common Criticisms

  • The clasp has the 5mm Easylink extension, but not Glidelock's finer adjustment. Some owners find that opening the extension makes the bracelet too loose, while keeping it closed feels too snug as their wrist expands.
