The Datejust 126300 gives you the broad dial of the Datejust 41 without the flash of a fluted bezel: its smooth steel surround keeps the familiar design quietly modern. It’s the version to consider if you love the Cyclops and everyday usefulness of a Datejust but want something less dressy on the wrist.

Introduced in 2017, it followed the Datejust II 116300, bringing more restrained proportions and the 3235 movement with roughly 70 hours of power reserve. That makes the earlier reference worth distinguishing from this one: both are nominally 41mm, but they wear differently. Within the 126300 range, bracelet choice does much of the character work. The Oyster emphasizes the smooth bezel’s simplicity; the Jubilee adds texture and a more traditional Datejust feel. Both have Easylink adjustment, useful when that substantial steel watch starts feeling snug on a warm afternoon.

What owners love

  • The smooth bezel gives the 126300 a cleaner, less dressy look than the fluted-bezel Datejust 41. It still catches plenty of light, but feels easier to wear with ordinary casual clothes.
  • On the Jubilee bracelet, it sits comfortably and the small links drape nicely around the wrist. The clasp’s Easylink extension is genuinely useful when your wrist swells during the day.
  • The 41mm size gives it noticeable wrist presence without making it especially thick. Owners who find the Datejust 36 too small often appreciate that this still slips comfortably under a shirt cuff.

Common Criticisms

  • The broad, polished smooth bezel picks up hairline scratches, and they can be conspicuous when the light hits it. If you choose the Oyster bracelet, its polished centre links add another surface that shows desk-wear marks.
