Omega’s De Ville is a broad dress-watch family, not a single design: the name spans restrained vintage watches, quartz models, and mechanical pieces with distinctly modern movements. What ties them together is an emphasis on dial and proportion rather than sporting equipment, though the cases, sizes, and complications vary considerably.

The De Ville name first appeared within the Seamaster line in the early 1960s, before becoming an independent collection in 1967. That makes the dial wording useful: an early Seamaster De Ville belongs to a different chapter from a later watch signed simply De Ville. Across subsequent decades, Omega offered hand-wound, automatic, and quartz versions, so the family name alone tells you little about what is ticking underneath.

Among later branches, Prestige favors traditional dress-watch styling, while Trésor includes both hand-wound mechanical watches and quartz designs. Hour Vision is distinguished by sapphire panels in the case sides. Movement history matters here, too: De Ville introduced Omega’s first commercial Co-Axial movement, caliber 2500, in 1999; later Co-Axial generations are not all the same mechanism.
