The Nomos Tangente 35 makes a sparse dial feel expressive: slender numerals, blued hands and a recessed small-seconds register give each other room to breathe. Its straight, angular lugs add enough reach that the 35mm case wears less diminutively than the number suggests—a useful distinction if you like restrained proportions but worry about going too small.

The Tangente was among Nomos’s first watches in 1992, and this hand-wound version remains close to that original proposition: thin, legible and deliberately spare. Choose 101 for a solid caseback, or 139 if seeing the movement is part of the pleasure; the sapphire back is the meaningful difference, not a different dial personality. Pay particular attention to how those projecting lugs sit on your wrist. They give the Tangente its distinctive outline, but can extend beyond a narrow wrist even when the case itself feels modest.
