The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris family takes its cue from the 1968 Memovox Polaris, an alarm-equipped dive watch with three crowns and an internal rotating bezel. That combination of sporting purpose and mechanical curiosity still ties the family together, even as modern versions range from straightforward time-only watches to chronographs, travel complications and perpetual calendars.

The modern collection arrived in 2018, translating the older watch’s broad numerals and luminous markers into layered dials with contrasting finishes. The Polaris Automatic keeps the display spare, while the Polaris Date adds a calendar window; both retain the two-crown arrangement for winding, setting and turning the inner bezel. The Polaris Chronograph takes a different route, trading the bezel-control crown for pushers and elapsed-time counters.

Alarm models make the most direct connection to the original: the Polaris Mariner Memovox pairs that audible complication with a more explicitly diving-focused specification. The Polaris Mariner Date shares that aquatic emphasis without the alarm. Elsewhere, the Polaris Geographic brings a second time zone, while the Polaris Perpetual Calendar fills the familiar sporting dial with calendar indications and a moon-phase display.
