The Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date takes the twin-crown layout and broad luminous markers of the 1968 Memovox Polaris and puts them to work in a modern sports watch, without the original’s alarm. Its charm is in the dial: distinct surface finishes give the black version depth, while the internal rotating bezel keeps the case free of an external timing ring.

The original 2018 black-dial model is the one to seek out if you like the vintage connection made explicit, with warm-toned lume against a restrained background. Later lacquer-dial versions, including green, take a richer, more contemporary direction. Don’t assume every generation has the same movement specification; the later models brought a substantially longer power reserve.
