The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Geographic makes a travel complication feel at home in a dress watch: a city disc lets you select the second time zone, rather than work it out against a rotating bezel. It is not a conventional world timer showing every zone at once; the pleasure is in giving one faraway place its own little dial, complete with a day/night indication.

The classic silver-dial versions have the more traditional instrument-panel character, with a pointer date and power-reserve display sharing space with the travel functions. For something visually lighter, look for the 2017 sector-dial version, whose blue detailing and openworked hands give the layout a distinctly different rhythm. Whichever you prefer, spend a moment operating the city-selector crown at ten o’clock: the city disc and second-time-zone display should respond together. That interaction is central to what makes the Geographic worth choosing over a simpler dual-time watch.
