The Tissot PR 100 is for the days when you want a watch, not a conversation starter: a clean Swiss three-hander with enough polish to look considered. The current 40mm quartz version puts its date at six, keeping the dial balanced and letting the applied baton markers do most of the work.
Quartz is a natural fit here—accurate, straightforward, and consistent with the watch’s unfussy character. Earlier Powermatic 80 versions offer an automatic alternative if the movement is part of the pleasure for you, but don’t assume every PR 100 shares the current model’s dimensions or dial layout; the name covers several generations. On a quartz example, a seconds hand advancing in four-second jumps is the battery’s end-of-life signal, not necessarily a movement fault. That’s a useful distinction on a watch whose quiet competence is precisely the point.
