The TAG Heuer Carrera began in 1963 as a chronograph built around legibility: clear scales, uncluttered dials, and sharply drawn lugs. That original discipline remains a useful thread through a family that now spans restrained three-hand watches, traditional chronographs, and openworked designs in several sizes.

Early Heuer Carreras have a spare, purposeful look, while the Carrera 1964 Re-Edition revisits that vocabulary with a hand-wound movement and vintage-style proportions. Later automatic chronographs take several directions: Carrera Calibre 16 models commonly use a vertical arrangement of three subdials, while Carrera Calibre 1887 brought TAG Heuer’s own chronograph development into the range. The Carrera Calibre Heuer 01 leans toward layered, technical dials; the Carrera Calibre Heuer 02 uses a three-register layout with counters at three, six, and nine.

For a quieter dial, the Carrera Calibre 5 and Carrera Day-Date move away from elapsed-time measurement. At the other end, Carrera Skeleton models expose the mechanism, while modern Carrera GlassBox chronographs use a domed sapphire crystal and curved dial edges to reinterpret the earlier watches’ emphasis on readable timing scales.

$1,137 – $6,611 spread of reference medians

Each price is the median ask from one reference's own listings, and a reference needs at least five to get one. Listings that don't name a reference are left out, and nothing is blended into a family price.
