The Carrera 1964 Re-Edition brings back the early Carrera’s clean, three-register layout without trying to turn it into a modern sports watch. At 36mm, with slender hands and a simple Heuer signature on the dial, it preserves the restrained proportions that make the original such a pleasure to wear.

Introduced in 1996, this is the hand-wound re-edition to seek out if you want the early design rather than a later, larger automatic interpretation. The silver-dial CS3110 feels particularly spare; the black-dial CS3111 gives the same layout a crisper contrast. Inside is the Lemania 1873, a three-register chronograph movement with no date to interrupt the dial. Pay particular attention to the angular lug facets: heavy polishing can soften a defining part of the case. The acrylic crystal is another deliberate period touch, giving the dial a warmth that sapphire doesn’t quite reproduce.
