U50

The Sinn U50 brings the brand’s submarine-steel dive-watch vocabulary into a more compact format, without losing the blunt hands and block-like markers that make it so recognizable. Across the family, the useful distinctions are less about a different silhouette than about surface hardening, bezel treatment, dial material, and what happens beneath the crystal.

Introduced in 2020 as a smaller sibling to the U1, the original automatic U50 pairs a restrained black dial with red accents and the SW300-1. Its captive rotating bezel is secured against accidental separation and receives Sinn’s TEGIMENT hardening treatment. The U50-T extends that treatment to the case, while the U50 SDR is distinguished by its black hard-coated bezel rather than the steel-colored bezel of the standard model.

The U50 Hydro takes a different technical route: an oil-filled case and quartz movement replace the conventional automatic arrangement, with the oil preserving dial legibility at oblique angles underwater. The U50 MOP changes the visual character instead, introducing mother-of-pearl beneath the familiar geometric hands and markers—a shifting surface within an otherwise deliberately spare instrument dial.
