The Sinn U1 family is instantly readable by its block-shaped hands and markers, with red accents giving the dial the look of an instrument panel rather than a conventional diver. German submarine steel and a captive timing bezel supply the substance behind that graphic confidence: this is a watch whose construction is as distinctive as its face.

The core U1 established the familiar 44mm format and 1,000-metre depth rating, but finishes and special editions give the family several different personalities. The U1 SDR pairs a black bezel with an uncoated steel case; the U1-T extends Sinn’s TEGIMENT surface-hardening treatment to the case, rather than just the bezel. The U1 White takes the same unmistakable dial architecture in a brighter direction.

Across production generations, automatic movements include the ETA 2824-2 and Sellita SW200-1, both with a date display. That change is less visible than the differences between executions: bezel finish, case treatment and dial palette do more to distinguish one U1 from another on the wrist.
