The Rolex Yacht-Master 116622 takes the familiar Rolex sports-watch silhouette somewhere softer: a rounded steel case, polished center links, and a platinum bezel whose raised numerals catch the light against a matte background. It feels less buttoned-up than a Submariner, especially with the blue dial and its red seconds hand.

Introduced in 2012, this reference brought a more substantial bracelet clasp to the 40mm Yacht-Master while retaining the well-established 3135. The later dark rhodium dial, with turquoise accents, offers a cooler, more restrained alternative to blue. Its successor, the 126622, arrived in 2019 with the newer 3235; choose the earlier watch if you prefer the familiar movement rather than needing the longer power reserve.

Pay particular attention to the platinum bezel: wear or refinishing can soften the contrast between its textured surface and polished relief numerals. That contrast is a large part of what makes this Yacht-Master itself.
