Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar family is united by a practical complication: it distinguishes 30-day months from 31-day months, needing a calendar correction only at the end of February. Since the debut of 5035 in 1996, that idea has taken several forms, from compact, rounded dress watches to larger designs with additional complications.

The dial is often the quickest way to place one within the family. The original 5035 uses hands to indicate the day and month, with a 24-hour display below; its successor, 5146, retains the day-and-month subdials but adds a moonphase and power-reserve indicator. 5396 takes a more orderly approach, putting day and month in paired windows beneath twelve, while 5205 arranges day, date, and month in an arc across the upper dial.

Later branches extend the concept rather than simply redraw it. 5326 combines the annual calendar with Travel Time, pairing local and home time with a textured dial and syringe-style hands. Across generations, case dimensions, automatic calibers, and dial architecture vary considerably; the calendar logic remains the common thread.
