The Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph takes the wave-dial Seamaster’s familiar design and gives it a busier, more muscular character. The skeleton hands and scalloped bezel remain unmistakable, but three recessed registers turn the dial into something closer to an instrument panel—especially satisfying if you like your divers with a little mechanical bustle.

The titanium 2298.80 is worth seeking out if you love this generation’s blue dial but want less weight on the wrist; the chronograph case still has considerable presence. Examples powered by caliber 1164 use Omega’s version of the Valjoux 7750, whose sometimes noticeable rotor movement is part of the experience, not automatically a fault. When handling one, run the chronograph through start, stop, and reset: the central seconds hand and elapsed-time counters should return cleanly to zero. Also try the scalloped bezel yourself; its distinctive shape offers less purchase than a deeply toothed edge.
