Choose the movement as much as the dial. The AW0130 family offers Eco-Drive convenience with a day-date display; the CA4610 adds a chronograph. For a mechanical movement, look to the NJ0180: its small-seconds register sits off-center, giving the dial an asymmetry that distinguishes it from the solar-powered versions.

Citizen’s hardened titanium surface is worth preserving. Aggressive polishing can alter both the finish and the crisp transitions between surfaces, so an unrefinished case is preferable to one made artificially spotless.
