Code 11.59

Audemars Piguet’s Code 11.59 puts an octagonal case middle between a round bezel and caseback, with openworked lugs that give the architecture room to breathe. Introduced in 2019, the family shares that construction and a double-curved sapphire crystal, but spans straightforward automatic watches, chronographs and elaborate complications rather than a single mechanical formula.

The original 41mm gold models established the design; later arrivals brought ceramic case middles, steel cases and a smaller 38mm option. Early lacquered dials have a comparatively spare appearance, while the embossed concentric pattern introduced on steel models in 2023 gives the dial a much more textured surface. The Code 11.59 Selfwinding 38mm is a distinct smaller branch, not simply another dial choice within the original size.

In the 41mm Code 11.59 Selfwinding, caliber 4302 supplies central seconds and a date; the Code 11.59 Chronograph uses the integrated flyback caliber 4401. The Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar adds calendar subdials and a moon phase, with blue aventurine giving its early versions a starry backdrop. The Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon instead opens the dial at six o’clock around a cage supported from below, without an upper bridge obscuring the view.
