The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 26420 keeps the Offshore’s muscular presence but gives it a more considered fit: the 43mm case introduced in 2021 has curved lugs and a reshaped profile. It is still emphatically an Offshore, with the exposed bezel screws and oversized chronograph controls, but the changes are worth feeling on the wrist rather than judging by diameter alone.

This generation also brought the integrated caliber 4401, replacing the modular chronograph architecture of earlier Offshores. Its flyback function lets you reset and restart timing with one press; the display back gives you a view of the movement rather than hiding the mechanical upgrade.

The steel 26420ST is a natural starting point, while the pink-gold 26420OR adds noticeably more weight. Across the family, the interchangeable strap system is a useful distinction: make sure its release mechanisms engage positively when trying the watch.

What owners love
