It is my pleasure to introduce to you one of the nicest watches I've ever seen in person. For sale today is an incredible conversion watch, also known as a "marriage watch". This means that the movement and dial originally came from a pocket watch, and were placed inside a wristwatch case. This is a Tiffany & Co. brand watch with a high-grade movement by Longines. Dial is sterling silver, made by Stern Freres. This company famously made dials for several top watch brands, including Patek Philippe, and they later went on to acquire ownership of the Patek Philippe brand. The Stern family are still owners of PP to this day. The original pocket watch was manufactured in 1927. Pics: https://imgur.com/a/UT4nv8S Timestamp: https://imgur.com/a/OPjEFkS 44mm stainless steel case with 22mm lugs, set on a brown two piece leather strap. Both the case and band are brand new, never worn, and in mint condition. The total watch thickness is only 8mm. Powered by a Swiss made Longines in-house 17.89M caliber movement, made for Tiffany & Co. In this case the "M" indicates that this is the thinner version of the movement, with the 17.89 version being slightly thicker. This is a 17-ruby movement, adjusted to temperature and two positions. Very fancy! It also has a "snail" regulator, which is similar to the regulator of a Patek Philippe movement. For more information on Longines 17.89M movements, please see the link below: http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Longines_17_89M For a comparison of design and quality, here's a pic of this watch next to a similar one made from a Patek movement: https://imgur.com/a/QE9IVGw You can see in the photo that they both have the "snail" style regulator. Regular push/pull crown at the 12 O'Clock position. Crown is handmade, and easy to use. This dial is spectacular! Made from solid sterling silver with the Tiffany logo set into a small piece of solid gold. I suspect that the subdial may also be solid gold, but I spoke to the watchmaker and he said he wasn't sure if it was or not, but that it might be. The numerals have developed a typical silver tarnish, which looks incredible! The numerals have a rich vibrant color that can only be seen at certain angles. It gives the dial so much depth and character! The hands are original, and in like-new condition. This conversion watch was made by my friend Lothar . He's an older German guy with incredible watchmaking skills, but zero internet skills. As a result, I have so far been the only person to offer his works for sale online. I have sold several of his pieces here on Reddit. See my post history for details. The last one I sold was an IWC. What a gorgeous and absolutely unique timepiece! Asking $935 USD OBO including shipping within North America. Great international rates available too.
