The Seiko Alpinist SPB337 takes the familiar compass-bezel Alpinist into darker territory: a black-coated case, black dial, and green luminous accents replace the green-and-gold palette many enthusiasts associate with the name. It belongs to Seiko’s Black Series, but keeps the details that make this Alpinist such an enjoyable oddball—cathedral hands, an internal compass ring, and a second crown to turn it.

This is the modern Prospex generation, with a date magnifier and the 6R35 movement, rather than the earlier SARB017. Choose it for that sharper contrast and less traditional finish, not for a different Alpinist experience underneath.
