The Seiko Alpinist SPB210 takes the familiar green-dial Alpinist and gives it a gold-tone case, making its cathedral hands and applied numerals feel unusually cohesive. It’s a warmer, dressier take on a watch whose rotating compass ring and second crown still belong firmly to Seiko’s outdoors-minded side.

Also known by its Japanese-market reference, SBDC136, this is part of the modern Prospex generation, with the 6R35 movement, sapphire crystal and date magnifier—not the older SARB017. If you want the same contemporary green-dial formula in steel, the SPB121 is the relevant alternative; choose this one for the gold-tone treatment, rather than a different mechanical package. That finish deserves particular attention around the lugs and bezel edges, where wear can interrupt the color. Try the separate compass crown, too: it should turn the inner ring smoothly, a small but important part of the Alpinist experience.
