The Orient Kamasu is a Japanese dive watch with enough dial personality to make choosing a color the difficult part. The original burgundy-red version is especially rewarding: its sunburst finish shifts from near-black to wine-red, framed by sharp hour markers and an arrow-shaped hour hand.

For the crispest, most angular look, seek out the original dial layout; the later Kamasu II uses rounder markers and warmer lume tones for a more vintage-leaning effect. Both benefit from sapphire crystal and the F6922, Orient’s automatic caliber with hand-winding and hacking—useful distinctions from some older Orient divers. The bezel’s shallow grip and the small screw-down crown are worth trying in person if you expect to use them regularly. On bracelet-equipped examples, the hollow end links can feel less substantial than the watch head.
