Chopard’s L.U.C family is where the brand’s movement-making ambitions come into focus, from slim dress watches to travel watches and elaborate complications. The shared thread is less a particular case or dial than an attention to mechanical architecture and finishing that rewards looking beyond the familiar Chopard name.

Named for founder Louis-Ulysse Chopard, the collection grew from the manufacture established in Fleurier in 1996. The L.U.C 1860 followed in 1997 with caliber 1.96, combining a gold micro-rotor, twin barrels and finely finished bridges. That early watch provides an important point of reference, but later L.U.C models span different dimensions, winding systems and degrees of complexity; not every member uses the original micro-rotor formula.

The names help untangle that range. The L.U.C XP takes the restrained two-hand route, while the L.U.C XPS adds small seconds. The L.U.C 1937 Classic offers central seconds and a more substantial presence. The L.U.C GMT One brings a second time zone, while L.U.C Tourbillon models move into exposed regulating mechanisms and more elaborate movement construction.
