The Casio GW-6900 takes the three-eyed face of the DW-6900 and adds solar charging and radio-controlled timekeeping without losing its big front light button or chunky resin silhouette. It’s the 6900 for someone who loves the original’s character but wants fewer reasons to open the case or reset the time.

Introduced in 2009, this isn’t simply a solar-powered version of the older module: its Multi Band 6 reception supports time signals in Japan, North America, Europe, and China, though reception depends on location and surroundings. For everyday use, favor a conventional positive display if quick readability matters more than the darker look of an inverted screen. On a used example, pay attention to the charge indicator and whether it holds its charge after exposure to light; solar power doesn’t make the rechargeable cell immortal.
