The Casio GBD-200 gives the familiar square G-Shock a genuinely useful upgrade: a memory-in-pixel display that makes its digits unusually crisp and readable. That screen is the reason to want one even if your running shoes rarely leave the cupboard; it brings a clarity that conventional negative-display G-Shocks often struggle to match.

Introduced in 2021 as part of G-SQUAD, it adds step counting, running-distance measurement and Bluetooth connectivity without becoming a full smartwatch. There’s no onboard GPS: it uses a connected phone’s GPS data to improve distance calculations, then can estimate distance independently. Choose the color you enjoy rather than chasing a different feature set. For a used example, the useful checks are whether the vibration alert works and whether it pairs successfully with Casio’s app. Phone notifications are available, but their menu-driven handling is less polished than the excellent basic time display.
