Hi again folks!  Available for purchase is a super cool, very limited edition release of the Oak & Oscar The Humboldt “Seven Year”. According to the owner Chase, to celebrate their seventh year in business he had Nathan Bobinchak, their Director of Watchmaking, hand-machine individual bezels out of a special brass alloy and build hand-finished dials for a small run of 10 of these.  All 10 were only available to purchase in person at the 2022 Chicago Windup Fair, so if you were one of the lucky few to land one of these you know how rare they are!  This particular example is #7, making it even more interesting for you discerning Oak & Oscar collectors. The specifications on the Humboldt are: * Sellita SW300 Automatic movement – I clocked it at -5 sec/day with 0.2BE and 285 amplitude on my timing app, your mileage may vary! * 316L Stainless steel mid-case and caseback, bezel made from 693 Eco Brass, a special lead-free alloy with exceptional corrosion resistance and strength. * Case specs: 39.5mm diameter x 12.4mm height x 46.8mm lug to lug, 20mm lug width, 200m water resistance * Double dome sapphire with multi-layer anti-reflective coating Condition wise I would put this watch at 93-94%. There are no major dings, dents or flaws on the watch case, bezel or crystal, just very minor wear that might be visible under a loupe or very close inspection. There is a micro ding on the 7 o’clock lug corner near the drilled hole that was only visible under close inspection. The brass bezel has developed a nice patina with age and is in excellent condition. Due to the hand-made nature of the radial brushed sandwich dial, you may notice some extremely minor imperfections that are only visible under certain lighting conditions. There seems to be a speck of dust underneath the crystal on near the 2 o’clock marker that is only visible under harsh, direct lighting – I did my best to capture it in one of the pictures.
