This is a badass G Shock. When I first bought this piece, I was looking for a higher-end G-Shock with Sapphire Crystal. I have owned multiple MTG B3000's but kept the all-black one the longest. I love the blacked out look, love having all the features, and love the piece of mind that it can handle anything as a tough G-Shock.
Condition: Worn, but not abused. A few signs of wear, no scratches that I can discern. 8.8/10.
The MTG B3000 stands out in a few ways. As mentioned, it's got the sapphire crystal as opposed to mineral glass you find on most G Shocks. Regarding durability, you can go back and forth on what's better or provides better value, but I sapphire provides clarity and crispness to the dial that mineral glass can't compete with.
The case also features a "Dual Core Guard" structure. The module is enclosed in a carbon-reinforced resin case, and outside of that is the metal case which kind of "claws" around the carbon enclosure. The caseback is stainless steel, and you can see G Shock uses a mix of brushed and polished surfaces that works really well.
The MTG B3000 is also slimmer than previous iterations of the MTG at just 12.1 mm. A lot of these feature rich G Shocks like the master series are quite thick.
The MTG B3000 has got a super simple easy-to-use quick change system. Bracelets for the MTG B3000 can be found on the aftermarket
On top of all this add all the things that make a G Shock great: Solar powered, multi-band accuracy, stopwatch, timers, calendars, bluetooth connectivity (I mostly use this to locate my phone), high durability.
People don't tend to look twice at G Shocks, since they're everywhere, but when you peer in a little closer, you can see this watch is a little more special than the sea of Casios out there.
