I just purchased my grail watch (2017 IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Flyback Chronograph in PLATINUM), so I'm clearing the decks of pieces I haven't worn in a while to pay for it. Up for grabs here is a 2017 IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Flyback Chronograph in rose gold. Huh? What kind of person owns such a spectacular watch in rose gold and then buys the same watch in platinum? Me. I'm that guy.
Full disclosure: I bought the rose gold version always wanting but never expecting to find a platinum version available, let alone to be in a position to buy it if I did. Well, the stars aligned juuuuuuuuuust right and allowed it to all come together. So, I'm releasing this absolute beauty back into the wild.
If you're looking, you know the deal. In 1985, IWC released the first version of the Perpetual Calendar Chronograph -- a masterpiece engineered by Kurt Klauss to absolutely rave reviews and spectacular sales numbers. A revolution in its time, the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph went through a few iterations (including a tonneau-cased behemoth) before the original design was updated, modernized and re-released in 2017 as an entirely in-house movement to great acclaim. And it's easy to see why -- the watch is stunning. Just search Hodinkee for their review and "week on the wrist" article. It's a great watch.
The complication is mind-blowing, the finishing is fantastic, the articulated lugs are extremely comfortable and the watch wears smaller than its specs would suggest. The only caveat is that the only versions I would ever want -- with a white dial -- are only available in precious metals. This rose gold version and the platinum version which was limited to 100 pieces. The steel version has what is, to me anyway, a mediocre blandtastic slate gray dial that just doesn't do the design justice.
So, that's the story. Overall, the watch is in excellent condition. The strap is almost new and it includes the box, papers, cards, etc. The only thing I can't seem to locate is the little vial with the extra digits for when it clicks over to the next century. I'll include that as well if I can find it. Lots of pics below but feel free to ask for anything specific and I'll be happy to take more. It is running fine and keeping good time.
Asking a reasonable$27,500 $25,500 $24,500 $24,000 $23,500 (final reduction) shipped FedEx to the continental US. Bank wire transfer ONLY -- the watch will ship when the transfer fully clears. Also open to trades of similarly valuable watches. I have references here and I am eminently "Google-able" so you will know who you are dealing with. I expect the same. Please reach out with any questions and thanks for looking!

The price of this watch is an outlier for this particular model and not included in the distribution. It may be miscategorized, incorrectly priced, or extremely unique.
