I bought the dial of a SRPD31 and gave it a makeover. I love the look of the original watch but thought the dial might look interesting in a slightly more traditional explorer style retro case. Please don’t worry, no SRPDs were harmed in the making of this watch – I purchased the dial as a spare part from WatchPlaza (Europe’s largest authorised spare parts dealer for Seiko and other brands). * *The Hands*. Custom made retro scuba hands, brushed finish and C3 lumed. They fit the baton indices perfectly. * *The Case*. Custom made, with explorer stylings on an oyster bracelet. 316L stainless steel, brushed finished apart from the sides and bezel that are polished. Also has an exhibition case-back. * *The Crystal*. Flat sapphire crystal with AR undercoating. * *The Crown*. Screw-down crown, resulting in a minimum of 50m of water resistance (tested). * *The Movement*. A Seiko NH36 Day Date movement, regulated to +/- 5 seconds per day. Dual language date wheel, so you’re able to choose between English or Japanese. * *Strap*. Custom made 20mm 316L stainless steel oyster style bracelet, tapering down to 15mm.
