The brand started strong being completely Swiss made and using reliable workhorse ETA Movements. This watch is using a Valjoux/ETA 7750 Chronograph movement, which is probably the most popular watch movement in existence. Known for its easy servicing for watchmakers and longevity and accuracy with watch nerds. The watch itself was kept in immaculate condition. Seldom used and the tritium hour markers, hands, and inner 12-hour bezel have all patinated evenly and beautifully into a light custard color. In another 10 years, should turn to a beautiful pumpkin.Speaking of age, the exact age of this watch is uncertain. Although, given its patination and use of tritium lume, it's safe to assume this watch is from the late 90's. The watch also includes all of its original packaging including, Outer Box, Leather Travel Case, 2 unused leather straps, warranty papers, user manual, and, the MACK DADDY of it all, a complete Wenger Minithor Series Genuine Swiss Watchmaker's Knife! ***BRAND HISTORY*** Wenger, founded in 1893, is best known as one of the two companies that manufactured Swiss Army knives. The company was established in Courtételle, a small town near Delémont in the Swiss Jura region, by Paul Boechat. Initially, Wenger operated as an industrial cutlery house under the name Paul Boechat & Cie.Wenger's history is closely intertwined with that of the Swiss Army Knife. The company secured a contract with the Swiss Army to produce knives, marking the beginning of their production of this iconic tool. Wenger's knives gained a reputation for their quality and durability over time. *Picture of The First Swiss Army Knife in 1891, Known as the Swiss Army Soldier Knife that Wenger was contracted to produce for the Swiss Army. Following the acquisition, Wenger's operations were partially absorbed, and since 2013, Wenger Swiss Army knives have been integrated into the Victorinox collection under the "Delémont collection" name. It should be noted that while Wenger is best known for its Swiss Army knives, the company has also ventured into other areas. For instance, in the mid-20th century, Wenger innovated the food production industry by inventing the cooking extruder and pioneering food safety for human and pet food applications. ***INFO*** **Model**: Wenger GST Air Chrono **Reference**: 674.0648 **Year**: Late 1990's **Dial Color**: Black **Style**: Military **Bracelet**: Original Wenger Signed Bracelet **Sizing**: Full Links (Fits up to 8.5" Wrist) **Box**: Yes **Papers**: Yes (Warranty and User Manual) **Other Accessories**: Leather Travel Case, Two Signed Leather Straps, Minithor Series Genuine Swiss Watchmakers Knife (Complete) ***WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW*** The previous owner received this as a gift from a business friend who owned a jewelry store.
