For sale is a recently overhauled (April 2023) King Seiko (second) "first", otherwise known as the 15034. Looking for $475 (net) shipped CONUS. Can ship internationally as well for a couple extra bucks. This is the slightly updated (and rarer) case of the King Seiko first, having angular lugs versus the rounded ones found on the J14102. This watch contains an 18,000vph movement with 25 jewels. Selling as it turns out my "passion" lies with late 70s Grand Seiko Quartz, so I'm making space for some more baubles on the dressor. This watch is in great shape, with sharp angles on the lugs and the original crown. There is the odd scratch or two and a small dent on the rear of the left bottom lug, but in general, very nice shape. The lens is in great shape as well. This is my first listing here, but I have purchased and sold items on r/hardwareswap and.. I forget, something firearms related a long time ago. Hopefully I got everything right, if not -- please let me know. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
