Up for sale a vintage Seiko 7548-7000 quartz diver in good original condition. The watch was produced for Japan Domestic Market in December 1980. INSERT: Original in good condition, with few scratches. Lume dot in nice brown color. DIAL: The Original dial in very good condition, with no visible degradation. Printing on the dial is crisp and sharp. HANDS: Hands are original and in good condition. CRYSTAL: new high quality replacement crystal. CASE: The stainless steel case is in good condition with all edges and surfaces unpolished with original finish. Cleaned during crystal replacement. It has some signs of use but still in good original shape. The case size is 42mm. Lugs width is 22mm. Thickness is 13mm overall. MOVEMENT: The movement (Seiko 7548) is running great, service history unknown, battery replaced mid 2022. Day indication in Kanji or English, Quickset working on both day and date. CROWN: The crown is original, operates precise without any issues. Crown thread takes 1 crown turns to lock. Watch head with new nato strap as on pics. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
