Hello r/watchexchange! Selling a Seiko Prospex SLA053 Limited Edition in like-new condition. This watch includes its original box, instruction manual, and limited warranty booklet. Extra blue cufflinks. Limited Edition of 500 pieces. It's currently on a barely worn Uncle Seiko short rubber strap and includes the original Seiko rubber strap with matching black hardware. The ultra hard black coating and ceramic bezel will keep this looking new for a long time. The dial detail is fantastic...almost Grand Seiko levels. Unfortunately a catch and release for me. I always wanted a MM300, but unfortunately this is just too big for my 6.25 inch wrist. It fits well and looks great, but just a tad heavy. I'm selling it to fund the purchase of another blacked out watch. For reference, this wears about the same as a Tudor Black Bay 41 (regular diver, GMT, or Chronograph). I haven't put this on a proper timegrapher, but tracking on WatchCheck app shows time about +6 per day, well within the movement specs. Looking for $2400 shipped. I'll accept PayPal (FF or G&S +5%). Can also meet in person in the Northern, VA area. I am interested in trades so feel free to make an offer, though I'd rather they be face-to-face. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
