Hello r/Watchexchange, I recently inherited a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Model M6536 (red depth rating). Rolex Service Center in Manhattan said they were impressed with its age, but discovered moisture damage when they opened it up. They offered to send it to Geneva for restoration, which could take years and several thousand dollars. I want to sell the watch, but unsure about how to proceed. Should I restore it before selling? Would auction be best? Any advice on my situation would be greatly appreciated. Aiming for at least $10,000. Based in NYC.
Estimated Private Party Value $5,999 — $9,596
