Reposting this! This is the 2014 reissue limited edition with major benefits over the others. They only made 1000 of these and they’re rated to 100m vs the 30m of the other versions of these. Also true to the 36mm case of the original. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-glycine-airman-no-1 It’s featured in the above Hodinkee article. This is watch only with the original strap and the Veblenist tan strap in the album included (I’m allergic to it and can’t keep it lol). It’s in great shape mechanically, both crowns and bezel functioning, all functions good, keeping time. It’s in very good shape cosmetically with a few flea bites on the acrylic crystal and some marks on the high polished case. Crystal could probably be polished to remove flea bites. Open to trades for sport watches on bracelets (learning I don’t love leather on sport watches) or to selling. $800 shipped in US, same trade value. Since its founding by Eugène Meylan in 1914, Glycine has been producing watches at its factory in Bienne, Switzerland.

Meylan was an uncompromising watch engineer who strove for perfection and nothing less. He had a profound understanding of both the market demands and the possibilities offered by the technological advances of the time. Very soon, he succeeded in producing extremely precise, small movements for ladies watches, enabling Glycine to put on the market the finest miniature movements, clad in precious gold and platinum cases, often studded with diamonds.

Glycine became a supplier to the wealthy people who valued highly these works of fine craftsmanship. However, Meylan did not stop there. Around 1931, he presented to the world market a well-functioning self-winding watch, entirely of his own invention, a sensational performance that, for lack of capital, could not be exploited commercially. Some of these GLYCINE Eugène Meylan SA self-winding watches can still be found in the collectors' market.
