Sometimes we need a reminder of why we do this. Why are we on this crazy watch journey? For fun. This watch is that reminder. Try looking at the Exaequo Softwatch and not smiling. An equally cool backstory: they made this in honor of Salvador Dali‘s work. Early iterations even had his name on the dial and his artwork on the packaging. But oops, the estate didn’t sign off on it. A lawsuit followed, Dali’s name and images were removed on the next round of releases but it wasn’t long before the company went under. Because of this crazy back story, and of course the similarity in design to the Cartier Crash, these have gained popularity. A very cool piece at 0.5% the price of a Crash, and here in a completely untouched new old stock set! YEAR: App mid 1990s DIAL: Another Cartier design cue, the classic white dial with black Roman numerals. Beautiful, and surprisingly easy to tell time on! CRYSTAL: Crystal has very light storage wear seen at certain angles, but all in presents beautifully. CASE: Very much Dali, the 28MM (at the widest point) x 47MM long gold plated case brings the funk! This is the large model and it has great presence! Photographed on my 6.6 inch wrist (just laid across it to ensure the new owner would be the first person to actually wear this watch!) Case has very light wear here and there from years of storage, but also looks fantastic. MOVEMENT: Grab and go quartz movement, again sat untouched for decades, a new battery was just installed and it’s working beautifully! STRAP: Comes on its original funky green leather strap, again completely untouched with original soft watch buckle (buckle has light patina forming on the gold plating from sitting Al this time, can be removed but looks fantastic.) Just a crazy cool combo! ACCESSORIES: Full NOS set - watch with strap and buckle photographed, in its original cardboard box with original open guarantee paper.
