Greetings r/Watchexchange: Up for sale are two vintage Seikos from my collection: Goldfeather and Gyro Marvel. Please read descriptions and see all photos. Thanks for looking. **Seiko Goldfeather J15002E 14k GF** **$225 shipped** This early 1960s example features its original dial, crown and hands -- all in fine shape. Lugs show some wear. Caseback has faint scratches. It's 36mm excluding the crown. Original crystal has a faint scratch between the 1 and 3 markers. The gold-plated bracelet came with this 14k gold-filled watch. But the bracelet doesn’t fit well. A new leather strap is recommended. Album: [https://imgur.com/a/LI8PRYL](https://imgur.com/a/LI8PRYL) Timestamp: [https://imgur.com/a/mODO0zj](https://imgur.com/a/mODO0zj) You’re wearing a piece of watchmaking history here. Introduced in 1960, the Goldfeather was just 2.95 mm thick, making it the world's thinnest three-hand movement at that time. 1958-Citizen Deluxe—3.65mm 1960-Seiko Liner-3.35mm 1961-Citizen Hi-Line-3.25mm 1960-Seiko Goldfeather-2.95mm 1962-Citizen Diamond Flake-2.75mm These two articles tell the Goldfeather story if you don’t know it already.  [https://wornandwound.com/affordable-vintage-the-ultra-thin-60s-seiko-goldfeather/](https://wornandwound.com/affordable-vintage-the-ultra-thin-60s-seiko-goldfeather/)  [https://thewatchspotblog.com/seiko-goldfeather/](https://thewatchspotblog.com/seiko-goldfeather/) Runs strong. Sold as-is, described accurately to best of my ability at time of listing. Asking $225 shipped CONUS. PayPal FF. Add 4% for G&S. International buyers add $35 for shipping.   **Seiko Gyro Marvel with Rare Linen Dial** **$275 shipped** Here’s another piece of watchmaking history. The Gyro Marvel, a Suwa-made 17-jewel low beat (18000 bph) with the caliber 290 movement, was the first to have Seiko's “magic lever” system. The base movement, which had either been supplied by ETA or was a copy of the ETA movement, is wound by a ball-bearing mounted central rotor. The Gyro Marvel was Seiko’s first independently developed automatic watch. It was introduced in 1959, as a subset of the Marvel Line, and replaced in Seiko’s lineup by the Seikomatic in 1960.  This reference is rather special because of its rare linen dial. See the close-up photos to fully appreciate the workmanship and intricate patterning detail. Album: [https://imgur.com/a/cOIXqlg](https://imgur.com/a/cOIXqlg) Timestamp: [https://imgur.com/a/6VTcKd5](https://imgur.com/a/6VTcKd5) The 35mm case on this timepiece is in good condition considering its age and not being waterproof. Original crystal, crown, hands and dial. Applied gyroscope logo and gold baton indices. Caseback has scratches. The watch is running strong. Brown leather strap is in fair shape. A new strap is recommended. (I never got around to replacing the strap – the watch came with this one and it was ok. Then it fell out of my rotation, which is why I’m parting with it.) Sold as-is, described accurately to best of my ability at time of listing. Asking $275 shipped CONUS. PayPal FF. Add 4% for G&S. International buyers add $35 for shipping. These two historic timepieces were purchased directly from Japan. Take then both for $450. Thanks!
