This is the Redwood "Monsoon" model. Redwood is a small microbrand located in Montreal Canada. They really know what they are doing. This is an elegant, strong, simple EDC (everyday carry) watch. The utilitarian design is military-inspired. All of the exposed stainless steel case surfaces have a fine, brushed surface. No bling. The fit and finish of the components are excellent.
I just purchased two watches from Redwood and I'm flipping this bad boy to purchase another watch. The Redwood price for this watch delivered is $169, which is a bargain. With the two tropical Redwood straps, I'm saving you about $30. The lume is OUTSTANDING. Sapphire lens with AR. 40mm diameter. 20mm lug width with drilled lugs. Screw-down crown is smooth and positive. 100 meter WR. Go to the Redwood Watch company website and read the reviews for this model.
The watch ships with the complete kit (canvas watch wrap, warranty card, instructions, etc.) and two (2) black, tropical rubber straps with stainless steel, signed buckles. The image etched on the back of the watch is a tribute to the US Special Forces and indigenous special operators who faught behind the lines in the Vietnam War. They would leave their "calling card" to let the VC and NVA know they were being watched -- and killed.
