Hi WatchEx! I’m selling my Grand Seiko SBGR251 as I’m downsizing the collection and this piece isn’t getting any wrist time for me. I’m asking for $1,900 via Paypal F&F, including UPS Ground shipping to CONUS only. No trade offers please. I purchased this piece via Hodinkee Preowned about 2 months ago, but it just hasn’t connected with me so I’m moving it on. This includes the full set – original box and papers with warranty card dated to 11/18/2022. Bracelet is currently sized to my 6.5” wrist, with an additional 2 full links and 2 half links included. This piece is stainless steel, with the 9S65 movement, 72hr power reserve, 100m WR, and sunburst silver dial. Case size is 37mm in diameter with 19mm lug width. Watch is in very good condition, with a few light microscratches on the bezel, case sides, and bracelet. Watch is running at around +6 sec per day in my usage. The company was founded in 1881, when Kintarō Hattori opened a watch and jewelry shop called "K. Hattori" (服部時計店 Hattori Tokeiten?) in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan. Eleven years later, in 1892, he began to produce clocks under the name Seikosha (精工舎 Seikōsha?), meaning roughly "House of Exquisite Workmanship". According to Seiko's official company history, titled "A Journey In Time: The Remarkable Story of Seiko" (2003), Seiko is a Japanese word meaning "exquisite" or "success" ("exquisite" is usually written 精巧 from Chinese jīngqiǎo, while the meaning "success" is usually written 成功 from Chinese chénggōng).

Seiko is perhaps best known for its wristwatches, all of which were at one time produced entirely in-house. This includes not only major items such as microgears, motors, hands, crystal oscillators, batteries, sensors, LCDs but also minor items such as the oils used in lubricating the watches and the luminous compounds used on the hands and the dials.
