A Collector's Piece! The watch was originally purchased in July 2007 and with unknown service history. It was not serviced while in my possession as it ran highly accurate - though for sake of the movement - I would recommend to the new owner to have it serviced to prevent excessive wear and tear of the parts. International Watch Works charges $250 for ETA movements full overhaul in comparison to Doxa's $520 fee. According to my research, this is one of 20 units that were made in this configuration (PVD Coated/COSC/Pro). It is powered by the ever reliable ETA 2824-2 movement and currently running super strong with an amplitude of 280 and at an accuracy of +0s/day once fully wound based on current readings. WOW now that is some performance (love me some ETA!). All the functions work flawlessly. The bracelet is currently sized for my 7" wrist and it comes with 2 additional links so it could fit up to an 8" wrist. The bracelet has the screws for adjusting the links - not the annoying pin and collar that some of the 750Ts had. The watch is in amazing condition for a close to 17 years old watch (please look a the additional pictures and video provided above in the album link). I do not see many marks to point out other than at the lugs from strap changes, this must have been a safe queen (as it was for me the past 3 years). This is a collectors piece in collector's condition: it comes with the aluminum tube, the impossible-to-find orange rubber strap, the bracelet sizing tool, and the original warranty card dated 07/2007. I acquired this beauty over 3 years ago and it was instantly a safe queen. Since I am moving towards other brands, I need to downsize my Doxa collection to make room for other pieces and also to let others enjoy this classic Marei Era piece. Doxa, founded in 1889 by Georges Ducommun, began as a maker of dress watches and other timepieces. Over the years, Doxa gained in size and branched out into other timekeeping markets. (Wristwatches, Armbanduhren, Montres-bracelets; Brunner, Gisbert L; Pfeiffer-Belli, Christian; Koneman, 2006)

In the late 1960s Doxa decided to devote resources to create a watch to be used for diving. Tests indicated that an orange face was more visible in murky water. Doxa also consulted with divers, including Jacques Cousteau, then chairman of "U.S. Divers," and Claude Wesly (a Cousteau companion and the first man to spend seven days thirty-three feet underwater). A staff of engineers and professional divers was assembled to create a watch with the required features. The Sub300t was purchased in quantity by U.S. Divers, who resold the watch in the United States.

The Jenny family of Switzerland now owns the brand. Since August 2002, Doxa has introduced re-editions of its watches and timepieces in limited quantities. Many are reproductions of the original models in design and construction, and all use Swiss movements.
