This piece is part of the Japan Seasons collection, and the dial is meant to evoke an open, snow-covered landscape representing the winter solstice in Toji. When the sun hits the dial it sparkles subtly in a way that shows Grand Seiko definitely succeeded in the attempt. The watch itself is a mix of brushed and polished surfaces unlike the fully polished case of many Elegance Collection pieces. Given the way the dial, polished hands and markers, and very highly domed sapphire crystal catch the light, toning down the case a bit was an excellent decision. Lastly, the gold GMT hand and font add a nice touch of color and keep the watch from being to stark. The movement is the 9R66 Spring Drive with 72 hour power reserve, and the watch measures 40.2mm wide without the crown, with a 48.5mm lug to lug, 14mm thickness, and 19mm lug to lug. The bracelet comes with all 4 removable full-sized links and both removable half-sized links as well.
